Nuts Galore and the rest of the robotics class embarked on a trip to York Universities' Markham campus. We were invited to view the upcoming technology innovations being implemented at the University. This trip would serve as a learning opportunity as mentors showed us what we could do with the skills and knowledge gained through FIRST in the future. Upon arrival we were shown to a main lounge where we observed a makerspace class selling various products of their making. We then started a guided tour where we saw things such as the many lounges for student use, study room, vending machines, lecture halls and the 'Libraries' custom rooms; where you can ask the library to setup custom equipment for your various needs. We concluded the tour by checking out the gaming and workshop rooms, where you can either check out programs on a tv the size of a wall or play games to de-stress. The workshop allows anyone to obtain the necessary equipment and materials needed to build whatever their heart desires. After, that we went down to the main lounge again to view the winner announcements of the makers fair. With that we concluded our trip and returned back to St. Augustine via school bus. We would like to thank York University for their gracious hospitality and the opportunity for mentorship.
