Today, me and Lucas managed to complete the drivetrain with both success and failure.

Success

Failure

Right now, Lucas and I have completed 99.9% of the drivetrain for our robot. However, we have to complete the 90° corner brackets on the front beam and place them inward. I plan on completing that after school today (Oct 17, 2024) so we have less trouble.

Today (Oct 18, 2024), George and I managed to assemble all the pieces of the robot together after school. With some tests on the field, the robot can score specimens in high chambers & lower baskets.

Success

Improvements

This coming Tuesday (Oct 22, 2024), we will discuss further plans on what to do including adjusting the robot, beginning the process of wiring the motors, and starting the process of coding the tele-op part for the robot. Hopefully, we will accomplish these tasks by the end of the month (Oct 31, 2024)

Today, I was able to redesign the intake system as it wasn't properly reaching the upper basket.

Success

Fails

For tomorrow's class, I hope to complete the intake system with my group along with testing and seeing if it can reach the upper basket. In addition, wiring up all the motors is another goal I hope to achieve with my group this month.

Today, we modified the robot by adding the c-channel from the original instructions inorder to add more stability to the core of the robot.

Success

Modifications

Tomorrow, we hope to keep adjusting the robot and prepare for the coding phase of the robot.

I have forgotten to take a picture today, but I managed to accomplish the following with the team:

  1. Fixed cable management for the robot using materials such as zip-ties
  2. Finalized the intake system for the robot, holds samples and can make it into the high basket

Next week, we plan on finalizing the robot by adding the rev hub and battery. In addition, we will begin coding the movement of the wheels and arm, hopefully accomplishing it before the end of the month (Oct 31, 2024)
