I had trouble compiling due to FreeBSD specific dependencies that I could not resolve. However, I would seriously recommend RSF-1 for ZFS for an enterprise solution (fairly cost-effective too)... https://www.high-availability.com/ (contact them for a trial licence and mention that I referred you).
