Fixes + new methods. #38

New methods are for 8.0, and they're so marked with . Sorry for author email, I've overridden the setting in tortoisehg, but it didn't hold.

PS this PR shows a strange commits list, but the file changes are OK. Wish I knew why it's so.

It looks like some of these commits are already merged. This should probably be rebased.

Hmm. I got two heads after pulling your recent changes, but merged these together, so that master contained everything. Don't quite see why this resulted in such a strange PR.

I'm thru fighting with git, hg-hit, hg, and thg %-/ PR definitely got cleaner. Any better?
