Constantly forgetting what we are working on #233

Describe the bug

It is very frustrating. I'll spend an hour working on a project, then, I'll make a change and the system only provides code snippets which breaks the site. I will then ask it to correct this and it replaces the original app with completely different layout and features or removing major sections of the app. I then have to spend more time trying to fix it. I try to specify that it should never provide snippets but it does it anyway. I love the system but I have lost a lot of time fixing these mistakes. There are also constant errors which is where this all starts. I love the fact that it can fix the errors but it changes the entire project layout after it fixes the error. I have experienced this across 3 different projects and burned through 8 million of my monthly tokens in 3 days. I am happy to pay for the service but it needs to have a longer memory and give the option to NEVER USE SNIPPETS. Or, just update the changed code instead of re-writing the code each time.. Which ever company figures this out will have me a customer for a long time.

Steps to reproduce

Fully described above.

Expected behavior

The code should not be fully re-written when errors need to be fixed. The system should make sure that it is providing the same layout every time unless requested to change it.

Hey @plugmakr! Thanks for opening this issue and providing a detailed explanation.

This is indeed frustrating and we're actively looking into this right now. We will keep you posted on when we have an update for this!

In the meantime, a workaround that worked well is to ask it to split the code over multiple files. That way it does not need to re-generate huge file when you ask it to do small modifications.

We've also have templates which helps with that aspect too (as the model does not need to generate everything). This is the first message bolt send you in the prompt. To maximize the use of templates, make sure to specify which stack you want to use in your initial prompt (if you don't specify any and you don't care that also works). Changing your stack later is generally not a good idea.

Hope those helps, thank you so much for the kind words and sharing your excitement!

I though an additional 10mil tokens was going to be $10. I just checked and it's double. Twice the price of the subscription is not cool. 10 million is already not enough for anything serious but this is very frustrating to see.

The code snippet issue is something all LLMs have. Bolt allows me to get rid of my chatgpt and claude accounts but the token thing is a very big down side. Unless I coding a bunch of snake games it's not ready for real development. Don't get me wrong, I love the platform but things like this make me very nervous.

I was sent an email saying my token had been refilled again but they have not. The email is github@plugmakr.com. I would really like to get back to work. Thank you. Seth
