We should be able to extend the update-versions.py script to keep the templates updated to the latest version.

Hello, @oscar-izval. I'm wondering if we could close this issue since we no longer use the Python script to update versions?

I think we just need to edit the issue to mention that this improvement should now be made to the cli tool written in Go. The underlying issue remains
