Project Approval Request for NFT Afrika 2024

Project Title: NFT Afrika 2024

1) Total Grant Amount: $1,900

2) Project Description: Event Series: NFT Afrika 2024 aims to onboard artists onto the Stacks ecosystem. Objective: Explore NFTs and blockchain technology in East Africa, bringing together thought leaders, developers, builders, creators, and blockchain enthusiasts. Partnership with Stacks: Educate, onboard, and exhibit artists on the Stacks ecosystem, showcasing its innovative approach to securing digital assets, enhancing security and interoperability, and empowering African developers and artists.

3) Impact: Speaking Slot: Keynote (10-15 minutes) / Panel session (20 minutes) in all countries. Prominent Logo Placement: On all city-specific event materials (print & digital). Promotional Video: 5-minute video played between breaks. Social Media Promotion: Dedicated promotion on social media. Recognition: High-profile sponsor in event newsletters and on-site materials. Product Demonstration: Opportunity to host a product demonstration or activation at each event. Promotional Materials: Opportunity to distribute branded promotional materials at the event. Website Inclusion: Dedicated sponsor profile page on the official NFT Afrika website.

Project Timelines: Locations and Dates: Nairobi, Kenya: August 22-24 Kampala, Uganda: August 30 Dar es Salaam, Tanzania: September 6 Activities: Keynote speeches, panel discussions, hands-on workshops, and networking opportunities. Estimated Attendance: 700 attendees

4) Milestones and Deliverables: Kick-off payment : 0%-$0 Milestone 1: Successful Completion of the Kenya Event - 36% - $700 - August 24 Deliverables: Description: Organize and execute the 3-day event in Nairobi, Kenya, including workshops, conferences, and Stacks exhibition. Target: Onboard at least 10 new artists from Kenya into the Stacks community. Payment: $700 upon achieving this milestone.

Milestone 2: Successful Completion of the Uganda Event - 31% - $600 - August 31 Deliverables: Description: Organize and execute the event in Kampala, Uganda, including workshops and the Stacks exhibition. Target: Onboard at least 10 new artists from Uganda into the Stacks community. Payment: $600 upon achieving this milestone.

Milestone 3: Successful Completion of the Tanzania Event - 31% - $600- September 6 Deliverables: Description: Organize and execute the event in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, including workshops and the Stacks exhibition. Target: Onboard at least 10 new artists from Tanzania into the Stacks community. Payment: $600 upon achieving this milestone.

Previous Events: Successfully hosted the largest and only NFT summit in Africa, the Kenya NFT Summit, in 2022 and 2023.

Subject: Milestone 1 Achievement and Progress Update.

I’m pleased to share that we have successfully achieved the first milestone of our project. We’ve onboarded a number of talented artists and recently held a successful event in Kenya, which was met with great enthusiasm and participation. While we’ve made significant progress, we are currently experiencing a minor backlog in minting the pieces from Uganda due to some previous transactions getting stuck. However, we are actively working to resolve this, and we expect to finalize the minting process for the Ugandas artists this week.
