Stacks MixTapes: An Art & Music NFT Project Milestone 1 Update

The original concept was to curate 10 musicians and 10 artists, however, upon reflection of the scope of work, the album has been reduced to 8 musicians and 8 artists, a total of 16 people involved.

8 Musicians have been onboarded to Stacks.

They have all written and recorded their tracks and in the coming weeks, the album will be mastered, ready for release.

8 Artists have been briefed to create artwork for each of the tracks.

The artists are in the process of creating artworks for each track based on the music and lyrics of each song. There will be 9 artworks, one for each track, as well as an overall artwork representing the album as a whole.

The artists are:

2. Vandal - Project Indigo (artwork partially complete)
3. Ronin - Nonnish (artwork partially complete)
4. Chemical X - This is Number 1 (artwork complete)
5. Grace - Crash Punks (awaiting artwork)
6. Grace Hye (artwork partially complete)
7. Carole Levy (artwork complete)
8. Teflon Musk (artwork partially complete)

A basic marketing strategy has been designed.

Once I have received all 8 artworks from the artists I will commence with creating the full marketing kit to be utilised to promote the project.

We are on track to complete the first milestone by 30th April as per arrangement. Longstreet is no longer involved with the project.

Note:

• Due to this is a release of an NFT album needing to be confidential until launch (in July), no songs or artwork files should be made public on Github at this point in time. Therefore I've worked with Goodkitty in DM to checked all 8 artwork and 8 songs been produced, reviewed the files via Drive and Soundcloud. I can confirm all been produced.

Current Project Status and Reasons for Delays:

The album has been recorded, and all the artworks are complete. However, they have not been made public, except for snippets in the marketing tweets. The reason for scheduling the album drop around the Nakamoto upgrade was for marketing purposes—the NFT market has been very quiet on Stacks since the release of Ordinals.

I believe that after the Nakamoto upgrade, there will be renewed interest and energy in the Stacks ecosystem.

Milestone(s) and Expected Completion Date:

The only milestone that is yet to be completed is Milestone 2, which involves:

• Phase 1 Marketing (pre-mint) • Mint • Phase 2 Marketing (post-mint)

We are expecting to release the album in September. I am hopeful that the Nakamoto upgrade will be completed by the end of August at which point I will restart the marketing campaign. It will take approximately four weeks of marketing to build excitement and organize giveaways before the drop at which point the album will go live for minting.

• Josie Field: With 9 SAMA nominations and a BBC Music “Introducing Artist of the Week” title, Josie captivates audiences with her unique Indie Soul sound. • Evert Snyman: Known for his dynamic melodies and heartfelt lyrics, Evert is a multi-instrumentalist leading his band The Aviary. • Arno Carstens: Achieved notable success as lead singer of the Springbok Nude Girls and as a solo artist, with six SAMA Awards. • Kahn Morbee: Known for over 200 songs across 11 studio albums with The Parlotones, and three solo albums. • Laurie Levine: A SAMA-nominated artist and producer, Laurie blends electric guitars, synths, and spacious reverbs in her introspective songs. • Jacques Moolman: Celebrated for his role as Shadowclub's frontman and SAMA winner, Jacques blends Americana, blues, and rock. • Ard Matthews: Acclaimed singer-songwriter and frontman of Just Jinger, known for his distinctive voice and charismatic stage presence. • Gazelle: Led by visual artist and musician Xander Ferreira, Gazelle crafts an avant-garde sound with flamboyant performances.

We are excited to announce that, with the Nakamoto upgrade well underway, the Stacks Music Album 1 is ready for release. The album will officially mint on November 19th, marking a significant milestone for the Stacks music ecosystem.

Since Gamma currently cannot manage multiple payout structures, we have collaborated with Gary Riger to use his newly developed platform, Gated (https://gated.so/). This integration will ensure seamless payouts to all contributing artists, making it a breakthrough for the music industry on Stacks.

In addition, we have a comprehensive marketing strategy in place to ensure the success of the release. The campaign includes a combination of Twitter Spaces, Bitcoin Live streams, and social media outreach to engage the community and promote the album across various platforms.

I am so excited to announce that i have completed Milestone 3 and thus the project.

8 songs were recorded, mastered and minted. The 8 musicians were all onboarded to Stacks by me. 8 artworks were commissioned, inspired by the music. An album cover was commissioned. Marketing strategy was developed and adhered to.

Thank you SO much for this project, you've overblown my expectation.

Not only a Music NFT project was delivered, you added a a new Music Experience Market place Gated to yours and Stacks arsenal, picked up an ally of experienced dev Gary along the way. The collaboration effort of this project is pretty amazing to see.

And fully understand you want to time the launch the album post-Nakamoto where there is natural increase of Stacks user base.
