GRANT MISSION, IMPACT, RISKS & REFERENCE

Grant Mission:         This project is to introduce blockchain into the African Agricultural system. workshops organized will introduce blockchain to the Agricultural sector of Ghana and also build a community that will be ready to adopt innovations that stacks will bring up in the field of Agriculture in the near future. A lot of training and meetups have been organized but less attention is on the Agricultural sector which I know blockchain can solve if not all but most issues related to Agriculture and its value chain. we all understand blockchain is new and mass adoption will be tough, taking steps to bring people on board should be our priority, so, therefore, tackling the Agricultural sector with regards to awareness creation and community build-up will be a great initiative for stacks, to begin with, because stacks might happen to be the first to organize workshops and meetups in the Agricultural sector with regards to blockchain in Africa Ghana. Also, the youth are a group of people that easily adapt to new innovations and technologies and these youth who are involved in this Agriculture are targeted and introduced to blockchain I think they will adopt it much easier. There are stuck in people's heads ideas that could make Agriculture a success which I know blockchain can solve if these youths in Agriculture are introduced to stacks and the opportunity stacks present to people with great ideas, I think more ideas will be shared for funding opportunities which will help solve problems.

Grant Impact:               Establishing a high level of comfort for farmers to use cryptocurrencies as a medium of exchange to some level. Explaining the importance of blockchain and how blockchain can solve problems related to Agriculture. Building the first Stacks Agricultural cryptocurrency community in Ghana.

Grant Risks:                          Language Barrier: some people who might join the session may not be fluent in English which might make them less participating. To solve this instructional materials will be used to some level and also we will make use of a local translator who will help translate from English to the local language

Support Link:                                     This is an article I wrote on medium on payment systems in the Agricultural value chain that encourages the use of cryptocurrencies for payments of goods and services

Hi @zakimun -

Right now and for the next quarter or so, grants are going to be reserved for critical blockchain related work and addressing priorities outlined from community feedback, which you can find here. While this application covers some really interesting territory, we feel we need to pass for now. However, I would recommend that you connect with @haundre the Community Growth Lead at the Stacks Foundation.

Best, Will
