Personal Statement [Explain in 150 words or less the kind of work you'd like to do and why you think it could advance the ecosystem.] Recording human history on the blockchain, particularly with BTC and Stacks, offers a pioneering solution to the subjectivity that often clouds historical narratives. Traditionally, the victors or the powerful have shaped history, leading to ongoing debates about its truth. By harnessing the immutable nature of blockchain, we aim to establish a more objective and reliable record of events. This method not only promises to preserve knowledge for future generations, potentially circumventing the "dark ages" of lost information but also to ensure that our current actions and discoveries are accurately chronicled for those who come after us. Additionally, this initiative aligns with Satoshi Nakamoto's vision of a "time chain," contributing a vital service to humanity's legacy. By implementing this project, we not only underscore the technical capabilities of Stacks but also highlight its potential to enrich our understanding of history, attract attention, and bolster the ecosystem's credibility.

End Product [Describe in 150 words or less the what you plan to contribute to the community by the end of your residency, e.g. a whitepaper or a series of developer tools.] I aim to deliver a peer-reviewed white paper detailing the practical implementation of recording human history on the blockchain using BTC and Stacks. This document will outline methodologies for ensuring the veracity of events before their immutable recording, emphasizing the importance of rigorous verification processes akin to the foundational principles of BTC. The peer review process will engage experts from a diverse range of fields, underscoring the interdisciplinary nature of this endeavor and its significance across various sectors. Achieving a consensus on the white paper's methodologies is crucial for establishing a reliable system from its inception. The ultimate goal following the white paper’s validation is to draft and publish a smart contract documenting a major historical event, marking the commencement of a new era of documented history. This contribution will not only demonstrate the project's feasibility but also set a precedent for the future of historical preservation.

Roadmap [Break your project down into a simple list of milestones and include the approximate dates by when you plan to complete them.]

Hi @lush-club

Thank you very much for your application to the Residency program. After careful consideration and review, we don't feel the Residency program is the best fit for this particular thread of research at this time. However, we will be opening up a call for applications for Critical Bounties (RFP-style grants) that will include an open submission field (i.e. submit an idea of your choosing) and this could be an ideal mechanism for you to pursue this work.

Please follow our X account (https://twitter.com/StacksOrg) for updates and watch www.stacks.org/grants

Best regard and we hope to see an application from you when Critical Bounties are posted, Will
