Creating and deploying a web site or application

Campaign Description

• This quest encompasses the frontend side (using html, css and javascript), what is done on the backend side (routing, etc) and how to deploy this fully functional application for others to use
• It aims to provide stackies the basic knowledge of how to create their own application or website in the web2 space (similar to what we have done in Algorand, zilliqa and polkadot all on web3 spaces) using our current knowledge from the frontend campaigns. It is more helpful for beginners to see abstract code being actually deployed gives it more meaning but it can also teach some experts other ways to deploy their applications than what they currently use(e.g flask on the backend to a node.js developer and vice versa or using a different hosting platform)

Quest 1 Summary

This quest should go through the whole process in theory. And the different stacks and technologies involved in creating and deploying a website

Quest 1 Learning Objectives

-Alternatives to creating the front-end from scratch i.e use of templates or content management systems

• What is backend and Knowing about different backend technologies and frameworks available
• What is hosting and different good hosting platforrms
• Optional learning - Where introduction cybersecurity comes in your application

A quiz confirming fundamental knowledge of the quest 1 learning objectives

Quest 2 Summary

-This quest has to do with revisiting the front-end we have learnt the past campaigns (HTML, CSS, JS)

Quest 2 Learning Objectives

-Creating a one page site/app using either a pre-defined template (i.e using sites that offer free templates to make a simple web page OR

• Minor tweaking (HTML, CSS and JS sections) of an existing page to look a certain way (created by the team. similar to what we did in the just completed JS campaign)

A link to your completed web page

Quest 3 Summary

-This quest goes through what is actually done on the backend (using any technology)

• Since web applications may need more than one pages, stackie may have to pull same front-end code having two or three pages
• Involves code along (copy/pasting with a little explanation of what the code actually does) similar to what is done in the previous web3 campaigns

Quest 3 Learning Objectives

• Stackie is able to understand and explain some things done on in the backend (which is seemingly abstract to users)

-In this quest, stackie actually deploys this site/application using one free hosting plaform
