Logstash with consul template causes instance to hang and cpu utilization reaches 100% on a t2.medium instance when ELK is started for the first time with a lot of logs present

Kibana's node process utilizes a lot of CPU power while starting up, this combined with logstash with consul template and elasticsearch running on a t2.medium instance, causes it to hang

Is it always or sometimes?

not always, it worked on t2.medium in stage environment, but for prod environment it only worked on t2.large instance and not medium
