Display forest at 1:1,000,000 scale #110

What stamen does excellent is abstracting land cover. An option to let it do it for forest at a a scale of 1:1,000,000 (or any other reasonable) would be nice!

Hi @benjaminweb, can you explain a bit more what you mean? Right now we "abstract" the land cover by blurring it, which is partly done so that we can mix the small-scale MODIS landcover with the high-resolution OpenStreetMap landcover, without having obvious differences in resolution.

To see more about how we do the land cover, check out the repo for the Terrain style here: https://github.com/stamen/terrain-classic

Hi @almccon,

I should have been more precise from the beginning =) : http://maps.stamen.com/watercolor/#10/37.8927/-122.5882 does show where forest is (green), http://maps.stamen.com/watercolor/#9/37.8933/-122.5882 no more.

My use case is in QGIS wherein I want to display the forest (green) for an higher administrative area (where it currently is not displayed).

I refer to watercolor, not terrain-classic.

Oh, I just realise that terrain-classic displays forests at the scale I want. However, I would appreciate a similar behaviour for Watercolor.
