I don't remember if that's a direct client request or not. I think some amount of scaling is necessary so they get bigger when you zoom in, otherwise the point starts to feel too "specific"... the only reason we have the points at all is because we don't have actual data for those areas. At high zooms, I felt the circles needed to get bigger to communicate vagueness.
But I am totally open to tweaking they amount that it scales. Possibly it's scaling too much. We can make them less big at high zooms. But at the same time I want to make them a bit bigger at very low zooms, so they don't get confused with the city dots in #73
Feel free to adjust the scaling to something that seems right, or else you can assign to me and I'll do it.

zoom 10 = radius of 9
@almccon -- I noticed you have coded the point markers to scale on zoom. Was this request from the client? I find they get quite big as you zoom in.
