The BUGS Litter example is missing a link to the model background. This information is not on the openbugs.net websites, but I just came across a 1996 pdf version of the BUGS examples which includes the litter model (pp. 52): http://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/download?doi=10.1.1.43.903&rep=rep1&type=pdf

Thanks for letting us know. All of those models also need to be rewritten to bring them up to current Stan best practices!
