Minor errors in Parts IV to IX #7

  1. 65A is its own section in the scans; I’ve handled it the way you did 237A

  2. Same for 73A

  3. Transcription error: added back 7 missing periods before em dashes in Part IV

  4. In endnote 2, a Roman numeral was uncapitalized and both Roman numerals had periods after them instead of commas

  5. Transcription error in chapter-6-207: missing period at end of sentence, after ‘powerful’ in: ‘who is more powerful. He is only’

  6. Editorial change in chapter-6-207: ‘ipsisimosity’ -> ‘ipsissimosity’. This is a Nietzsche coinage from Latin into German, then translated into English–hardly the easiest case to judge, but I believe this is a printer’s error. The regular Latin superlative ending is always double s, and every edition of the German text I’ve looked up has double s. The newest Cambridge English translation and the modern Penguin also have double s

  7. Transcription error in chapter-6-207: the French verb ‘mepriser’ has an acute accent on the first e, see p. 126 of scans and dictionaries (e.g.)

  8. Changed emphasis from 'ipsissimosity' in chapter-6-207 to italics with no tag, in accordance with SEMoS 8.2.10.1. There is no emphasis in the German; it’s italicised in the scans due to its being a neologism

  9. Removed xml:lang="ru-Latn" tag from ‘nihiline’ in chapter-6-208. ‘Нигилизм’ is ‘nihilism’ in Russian, but 'нигилин' is not a Russian word, as it would need to be for this tag to be appropriate. ‘Nihilin’ is Nietzsche’s German and it’s another coinage of his, a play on Latin nihil + German Anilin (English aniline), glossed as ‘a poisonous chemical’ in the newest OWC edition. In an English translation, then, ‘nihiline’ is just a neologism, not a transliteration, so should be just <i> in accordance with 8.2.10.1

  10. Moved periods before em dashes inside italics in Part IV as required by lint

  11. Transcription error in last words of chapter-7-218: added ellipsis and removed ‘on’ from italics in 'on yourselves'

  12. Transcription error in chapter-7-232: 'mulierel.' -> 'muliere!'

  13. Transcription error in chapter-7-239: added colon after ‘Fear and sympathy’

  14. Removed emphasis from 'naivete' in chapter-7-239: you removed italics from all other instances of 'naivete' in line with the manual, and this one is not emphasised in German, so it shouldn't have italics either

  15. Transcription error in chapter-7-239: added period after ‘delights’ before em dash

  16. Typogrified to add joiner glyph before em dashes in Part IV, as I forgot to do in the commit numbered 3 above

  17. Changed language tag on ‘tiusche volk’ in chapter-8-244. This is Middle High German, so we need “gmh” not “de”

  18. 'bêtise' has a circumflex on the first e even as an English loanword according to M-W

  19. Transcription error in chapter-8-244: 'take a pride in,' -> 'take a pride in:'

  20. Transcription error in chapter-8-251: missing colon after 'Teutonomania'

  21. Transcription error in chapter-8-253: 'Français' -> 'français'

  22. Editorial change in chapter-9-262: removed 'tempo' from emphasis. It is italicised in the scans due to its being a non-English word

  23. Transcription error in chapter-9-260: added acute accents to 'désintéressement'

  24. Transcription error in chapter-9-287: 'the' -> 'The'

  25. Transcription error in chapter-9-274: 'ϗαιρὸϛ' -> 'καιρὸϛ'
