I cannot get the Evernote import tool to read my enex files #1140

Regardless of whether I choose an individual note, multiple notes, or an entire notebook, I get the following error message when I tried to read the resulting enex file into the import tool:

"There was an error processing your file. Please submit your console output to help@standardnotes.org."

I'm not sure what console is being referred to; the import tools is web based. There is also no change if I select or deselect 'Remove Formatting'

I have paid for extensions, and have activated the Plus Editor.

Any ideas?

Hi @aciarochi,

I'm sorry to hear that. Thank you for supporting us by subscribing to Extended! This is a known issue and fixing it is on our roadmap, but the dev team's time is currently constrained to providing fixes and performance improvements to our web/desktop and mobile apps so it would have to be fixed at some point after that's complete. I just want to be transparent by letting you know, of course!

If you'd like to send the logs from the console, you can do so by using the ENEX converter with the same file(s) again, and within your web browser, please right-click on any blank part of the page and click "inspect element". In the window that appears after, click on the Console tab, expand everything that appears in red by one level (using the caret like buttons on the left side), copy the text or take a screenshot of the errors that are highlighted in red (not yellow), and then submit your console output to help@standardnotes.org (in what I presume is to help preserve your privacy). Make sure to add my name in the subject/body of the email if possible (in whatever way is convenient for you).

Here is what a console reporting errors looks like. Console Log Screeshot

Hi @aciarochi,

I just wanted to let you know that this issue was fixed; you should be able to reuse the Evernote importer tool again. 🙂

Let us know how that goes and if you run into any other issues, or have any other questions!
