Hi @y59, as an initial step, have you tried reinstalling the app on your device, ensuring that it's removed from iCloud backups as well?
Please also let me know what note type you were using when you observed this behavior (e.g. Super, Rich Text, Markdown etc)
Hi Effie,
I was using the plain default note type.
I am a new Apple user, so Before I uninstall and remove icloud backups I want to make sure I dont lose my data if I follow the procedure you explained? Can you please confirm I am only removing the app and not losing my data? is my data stored separetly from the SN app? where is it stored please? on the device? in a cloud server?
thanks

- Open the Settings app, and navigate to your iCloud backups with the following path: [Your name and iCloud account username (at the top)] → iCloud → Manage Storage → Backups → [Tap on the correct device]
- Wait for the list of apps to load.
- Finally, locate the Standard Notes app and tap on the toggle button to remove the current and all future backups of the app from iCloud.
- From there, reinstall the app and sign in again.

Hi, the procedure will clear out all locally stored data, so any notes that are already synced on our servers will not be deleted, and you'll be able to retrieve them after signing back into your account later on.
If you've been using the app without an account though, please make sure to export a backup file from Preferences > Backups before you proceed with a reinstallation.
The Bug Efforts to select text within the body of a note (so as to copy text) usually fail. So too with pasting.
Expected Behavior Tap cursor or press and hold on text, and the menu banner appears with options to select, copy, paste etc.
Ipad 10 IOS 17.2
Additional Context The cursor will jump. The text magnifying bubble will jump, like it’s instantly appearing and disappearing. Or the magnifying bubble may display. But The menu banner to select, copy, etc. does not appear except in many one out of thirty attempts.
Further, when text can finally be capable of being selected after many attempts, the text selection controls do not behave as expected. Getting the desired word, sentence or paragraph to be selected as one would expect is unreasonably unpredictable and challenging. The selection controls just seem to have a mind of their own.
Further, when text has already been copied and is in the clipboard and pasting is desired, tapping the cursor or pressing and holding where one wants the text to go often fails- the menu banner with the option to paste often does not appear unless one makes many attempts.
The above problems do not occur when selecting text in title of a note, or pasting text into the title of a note.
