Issue: Adding "normal" lightning channels #30

Open VictorieeMan opened 1 year ago

VictorieeMan commented 1 year ago

There seem to be problems loading normal lightning channels. I have tried but it doesn't want to accept any lightning node QR codes.

If this got fixed, it would be great for the wallet. It would then have the {on-chain, lightning, stablesats} triad.

Hi @VictorieeMan. What QR codes did you try?

VictorieeMan commented 1 year ago

Tried both export qr codes from other ln wallets and the qr code I got from an lnbig.com attempt.

//non related It would be great if one could import other wallets like getalby wallets etc. Then Valet, would be a possible one fullt solution for connecting many btc wallet types in one place.

Other wallets may be rejecting opening private channels to them from Valet. Regarding importing other wallets, I may say that you can only import seed phrases. Unfortunately there is no solution for same channels to be working on different devices.

Could you please try this QR code?

That channel worked!

Then I assume the app works. It's just a bit inconvenient that the lnbig.com solution didn't work, since it's recommended from within the app. What I did was just following the lnbig.com instructions and it failed.

It would be nice if the usage of a lightning channel in the app could be made as simple to get working as the fiat channel and or as in other apps. Considering that non-tech users judge performance on ease of use. The app is good, I think there's potential here.

Thanks for reaching out. I could probably address these questions to LNBIG directly and write you back here.
