Summary

Hi Admin,

Will you integrate real debrid and trakt? Would that even be possible? If yes, that would be awesome.

Kind regarsa

Please confirm the following

I've never heard of these apps, so I don't think I'll be integrating them anytime soon. However, I'll look into it and if it's easy to integrate I might implement it but it's not a certainty.

Real Debrid caches torrents but they are delivered via direct link. Similar to how your app searches for content across the web, it should be able to query the Real Debrid cache for the same via the API.

Trakt is the mechanism by which most users track the movies and TV shows they've seen. It works in tandem with Real Debrid in most cases so you can move across devices and apps to keep everything in sync.

An app that does this well is Syncler.

Alright thanks for the information. I'll look into it and probably integrate it, if it's not too difficult.

I've never used Real Debrid, is it really worth paying for?

Without a doubt but this isn't the forum to discuss that. I'd suggest checking out Reddit as the question's been answered numerous times.

You're right, irrelevant question.

I should of said I don't understand the need for Real Debrid. I get it's a premium service of links to eliminate buffering but I don't experience this problem. Technically users shouldn't have any issues as long as the app uses quality providers in the first place.

the benefit to real debrid, is you're using torrents that never get taken down, and a service thats been running for 10 plus years. while if you're using these websites they get taken down all the time and have buffer issues on many, as well as the bitrate quality is not near as good. real-debrid is for reliability

Your comment is definetly a good argument between the differences.

Real Debrid sounds like a decent, long-standing service but will only benefit heavy users that are willing to pay.

The free websites do come and go like you said which brings instability for sure. This wouldn't happen if these sites used the correct host.

It doesn't really matter to me if these integrations get added or not, I was just trying to understand. That decision is up to stantanasi. Unfortunately, he will receive no benefit for integrating a paid 3rd party.

I barely watch anything these days but when I do want to spend my hour or two of free time, I don't want to waste it trying to get something that should work to work.

I don't think this project is for the creator's benefit necessarily. I think they wish to contribute to the community and this integration is almost always the number one ask. Look at cloudstream's discord, the bot triggers every time real debrid is mentioned - multiple times a day lol

I think they wish to contribute to the community and this integration [Real Debrid] is almost always the number one ask.

I hadn't researched Real Debrid yet, so I hadn't seen that it wasn't free. So to be clear, I will never integrate a paid service into this app. I created this app precisely to not pay for streaming services, so using a paid service is not in my interest to do so.

fair enough

I apologize for my long comment...

I barely watch anything these days but when I do want to spend my hour or two of free time, I don't want to waste it trying to get something that should work to work.

I agree with you, I rarely watch any movies or tv shows these days mainly because most everything is rehashed garbage that's already been produced and might have a slight twist or the synopsis doesn't sound appealing whatsoever. Seems like directors and producers don't know how to create quality content anymore or just have bad ideas. The past was better and the future is becoming more mind-numbing and ridiculous all the time(in almost everything). But that's just my opinion. Because of these reasons I love free apps like Sflix and a few others, especially the devs that build them.

I'm also fine with using free sites because they're free, I don't deal with buffering issues(which depends on which sites you use), I don't deal with the ads, and because of the other reasons I just expressed. They work great for me.

I also agree that this project isn't just for the dev's benefit but for everyone to benefit. According to stantanasi's above comment, keeping this app completely free is a huge benefit to all. If I was a dev of a similar app and was going to integrate a paid 3rd party I'd want a cut of the profits. Otherwise, all the work I put into integrating just turned my app into a video player for the paid service which serves me no benefit. It would benefit one group of users but not all(including the dev).

These are probably some of the same reasons CloudStream hasn't integrated Real-Debrid into their app. It was requested months ago and into the present but the devs still don't seem to care. They even setup a bot to deal with the bs, haha!

If I was Real-Debrid, I'd provide more than a video player, I'd also provide apps to capture my users entirely.

Most apps like this support free and the multiple de kids services. Yes debrid is fee based but you can add it an an optional settings for those that want to use it. Kodi add-ons have it optionally. Stremio has it optionally. Cinemahd, beetv, cyberflix, flixoid, Nova, teat. You name it they have free sources and optional debrid.

There is also AllDebrid and premiumize.
