What to do with the utils_annotation branch? #68

Hi @stark-t ,

Do you think it is needed to merge the branch utils_annotation with the main? This branch is related to data exploration that I carried out regarding issue #24 (closed now).

I find the merging optional and perhaps it is more clear if it stays as a branch on itself, so that it does not create confusion on the main, but this is a subjective opinion. The reasoning behind it is that the main should be as simple and clean as possible.
