Coins missing from wallet #18

Hi I have some coins missing from my wallet after they have been returned by Shapeshift. Please advise

welcome to the wild west!! I have 2.700 START missing and I can't find help!! STARTWALLET is a scam!!!

Ok, so there's a recovery tool however I don't have Bittrex account and they don't allow any new ones. Any Ideas where/how to get desktop client or are there any other exchanges that have start coins?

Ok, got the desktop wallet when scanning with recovery tool it says 0 addresses found with 0 balances ?

as far as I know, the STARTWALLET is a scam. I couldn't withdrawal even one single coin

@Kaleraltd Definitely not Scam I used it a lot before. It is just glitchy as hell. Here's an update on my progress so far: I downloaded and installed Startwallet Client on to my computer. Installed it Accidentally Recovery Tool worked after I changed number of addresses in settings to (90)

The problem I am left with at the moment is that technically the Startcoins were sent to my new Software wallet (and recovery tool is showing it ) All the missing coins seem to be there, so thats a first win but it takes a very long while for the software wallet to sync (download all the blockchain ) so now I see 0 in online wallet and nothing yet in the software one until Sync is complete. With my internet speed it might take a few days :)

So fingers crossed all work in the End I will keep you posted.

not scam?? for two weeks that I can't withdraw or send, all the transactions are "unconfirmed" and I can't find help anywhere, .... I really upset

Look Man, I went through the same thing (sort of ) I was missing 16000+ coins from my wallet and got no help anywhere. But you have to know what's happening within the company you put your money in to. There has been a major restructuring and yes the company was neglected. So it is like betting on the lame horse and then being upset that it is not winning the race. At the moment I won't be surprised that all transactions are stoped ( just speculating) The company is under new management. BTW did you try the recovery tool to just send all the coins in to the Software wallet?

Download it from https://startcoin.org and install. Make sure you wait for the wallet to Sync cause I didn't and am waiting now for it to do so hoping my transaction will show :) (which it technically should) once your software wallet is Synced and up to date then perform rescue with the Tool ( all instructions are there it's in one of you posts I think )

hi Gubasas Thank you very much It's syncronizing, I will wait to completlly finish and after I will perform the rescue to see i I can recuperate my coins!!!

congrats!!! my startcoin desktop app is synchronizing, "6 weeks behind"..... as soon as it finishes I will try find out how to rescue my backup!...

Finally the software is updated but I can't find how can I "run" the recovery tool in the desktop wallet!! could you please help??

recovery tool is online all you have to do is enter your desktop wallets address for recovery.

The tool is specifically for recovering trapped coins in startwallet.com, this process will require you to send the recovered coins to a non-startwallet.com address (eg. desktop client or Bittrex account):

  1. Please visit the StartCOIN recovery tool http://startwalletrecovery.herokuapp.com/
  2. You can either find instructions via 'help' on bottom left, or for more detailed instructions, visit the tool's github page https://github.com/StartCOIN-developers/startwallet-recovery.

Reiterating, you'll need to use a different StartCOIN wallet provider other than startwallet.com.

if online version of the tool doesn't work you can also download it is set by default for 30 addresses but it didn't work for me until I changed it to 90 if it works it will show you once it's done. Make sure to backup your online wallet before you do anything

MAN!!!!!! it's not confirmed yet but the two wallets where I had the problem it looks like I will get my funds back!!!! I want to pay you a drink or something!! you really deserve it!!! (I was considering this money as lost)

I used only Shapeshift in the past ( always expensive) and am actually looking at some exchanges at the moment Bleutrade being one of them. Bittrex seams to be ok but they don't take any more new users. In my opinion ( and it is only my opinion) it is better to stick with them(startcoins) for a while because there are some positive developments in the company that should reflect on the price. In saying that I am very much tempted to sell them and forget about them however I don't think it is a good time to do so. There is another exchange that I haven't tried Yobit.net . I read most of the reviews for most of the exchanges and none of them sound like solid options so there always will be a risk factor of something going wrong. If we were to believe rumours the new management of startjoin is planing on getting a startcoin on to two major exchanges at which point I think the price should increase significantly. So to answer your question I don't know and will be looking in to all available options and maybe doing some small trial transactions. So lets keep this thread going and keep each other posted on any new developments.

thank you I completely agree with you, and I will definitely do the same, I will keep them for a long period for sure. But I like to try the options before I need them. I have an account with Bleutrade and they look quite "normal", but to sell the STARTcoins we have to exchange them to BTC before, ... and all the fees and differences between buying and selling rates make a BIG difference at the end....

I'm mining in Nicehash, Claymore ETH and Startcoin in Suprnova, the 3 different coins I'm receiving (BTC, ETH and START) are very good to keep, without exchange!

When I hit the icon to open the app, it starts but 3 seconds later stops. I've tried to run in compatible mode but nothing works. Worse is that I don't have any backup....

Any idea?

My thoughts would be that it's the windows problem. I would start with that. Try safe mode followed by rolling back the updates it can be tricky with no backup

Also see if there could be any antivirus software that is blocking it I had a problem with Sophos that would block it

Hahahaha Ya ya, I invested £40.000,... mining.... What a disaster.....

My partner bought 0.5 BTC when it was £13.400 each BTC 😎

I just checked how much I have in START 10.000 and it's only £18 🤣🤣🤣😃
