[New] Guide for JAV Contributions #28

Open AdultSun opened 1 year ago

AdultSun commented 1 year ago

There's been a few requests for better guidance on how to source info for JAV scenes and performers, including what is acceptable for a scene's studio link (also covered by issue #27). This would essentially be an expanded version of what Kouaak wrote up a while back, the most recent version of that is currently hosted here: https://pb.envs.net/?4b5fda28e6ff1fff#4QFTViBmU69ALys7qbpZY8BAQxApqWs78Cn2vhrJ87Lb

In addition to JAV performer resources covered in Kouaak's pastebin, we could also cover:

We should use Kouaak's guide as a starting point, so please comment with any specific additions or corrections you would like covered in the guidelines. I'm also not sure yet if it would be best to create a standalone "guide" page collecting all this information or if it would be more appropriate to put each subject in the relevant "getting started" sections instead.

A large number of JAV studios use the exact same web layout for their scenes, examples can be seen at NSFW https://wanz-factory.com/ where the scene's URL is always StudioURL/works/detail/

In those cases the Studio Code is the scene title without a hyphen, so if the title was WANZ-123 the code would be WANZ123, and this is consistent with many of the larger JAV studios. When data is scraped from JAVLibrary it places the javlibrary URL, not the studios as the scene url, and fills in the code as the title, which for some studios is correct, i.e. Prestiege, but not usually.

For JAV studios once you have the site url getting the scene and all relevant data is extremely easy, although finding the studio site can be a pain as SEO tends not to offer them, but if the studio already exists in stash it's good to go.

For JAV studios 95% of them use either the title with or without the hyphen as the studio code, so having a flag that could be set for the studio to auto-populate the code based of the title could prevent bad data from being entered, and also work to clean up past data.

Other 3rd party resources for scene metadata

Worth mentioning that r18.dev seems to be a replacement for r18.com.

Other 3rd party resources for scene metadata

Worth mentioning that r18.dev seems to be a replacement for r18.com.

I thought R18.dev was moreso a mirror of R18.com as it existed before it went down? Are they actually adding new scenes?

The big issue with a lot of JAV metadata sites is consistency:

This is good.

JAVBUS is an issue when it comes to actress names, Aoi Kururugi on JAVBUS is... Wooden floor plug for a door of center hinge pivot Aoi - truly a beautiful name.

I just picked three "big ones" I am familiar with since they came up when a replacement JAVR scraper was being added to XBVR after R18 died.

OTOH Afesta is the only remaining "official" source for English metadata for JAV, and SLR for JAVR if you want to count them. Afesta's an official distributor in Japan - but there is no consistency between how they tag and what DMM/Fanza/R18 would've tagged.

list of official studio links and DVD ID prefixes

this'll be a "living comment" I edit periodically. for now at least... http://sougouwiki.com/ is an excellent resource, and for e.g. DVD IDs, I'll basically be copying the prefixes they list here. do your reps or bring your in browser translator along with you if you want to check it out. and obviously, any URLs here may lead to explicit content...

K.M.Produce https://www.km-produce.com/

usually e.g. https://www.km-produce.com/works/scvr-021 - note, contains dash, note: some older scenes have been removed

MOODYZ - https://www.moodyz.com/

way too many to list but I'll try - usually something like https://moodyz.com/works/detail/MIDV066 - note, no dash, three digits

OPPAI https://oppai-av.com/

S1 No. 1 Style https://s1s1s1.com/

fairly simple URLs, e.g. https://s1s1s1.com/works/detail/SSIS075 for SSIS-075

S-Cute https://www.s-cute.com/

note - S-Cute releases some/many of their scenes digitally in "parts" and "whole" as "DVDs"

you will likely have to use a dmm.jp link if submitting e.g. a full SQTE- scene, they do not seem to keep pages of their own for them after redesigning their site. you may be able to find an older link by doing a search for the DVD-ID + site:s-cute.com
