Excellent work with your first MDA Milestone, keep it up! Please see detailed feedback below, and let me know if you have any comments/questions:

General notes:

It is good practice to remove any installation code from your scripts; by keeping it there (line 15, install_packages), you are re-installing the package each time that you run the code, and if someone else runs your script, it is making changes to their local machine by installing a package, which should never happen. Notice how it says ""type the following into the R terminal"".
Exercise 1 (Choosing your dataset): Great work! You just missed a small instruction in ex 1.4, where it asks to write one research question per dataset of your interest - so, one question per each of the two datasets that you had narrowed it down too at that point.
Exercise 2 (Exploring your dataset): Well-written and clean analysis, you justify your choice of exercises through a well-reasoned explanation and also present the exercises in a way that brings them together into a cohesive analysis - excellent work! You comment your code appropriately, show your output to ensure that it is working as you intend it to (for example, by using print() or head()) and also complement it with your explanations in 2.1.
Exercise 3 (Research questions): Your questions are thorough and can be answered with the dataset that you chose, I also noticed that they follow up on your previous exercises (looking to see whether the relationship between tree age and diameter is species-dependent, for example) which is great! I think that all of your 4 questions are within the scope of the project, meaning that they are interesting and straightforward but not too complex. I look forward to seeing how you approach them on your next milestone!
Tidy Submission: Good start to your repo organization, just a few minor comments: your MDA file is knitted to .html but not .md, therefore work is not easily viewable on GitHub, plots and tibbles are not displayed and the repo needs to be cloned and the code needs to be ran again to ensure that it works and to see the output - recommend knitting to github_document from R and removing the .html file as it is a relic. You should also have a README including some context about the goal of this project, and describing the content of the files currently in the repo.
