You did an excellent job on your Milestone 2. Please see detailed feedback below and don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Keep up the good work!
Reproducibility, readability, and repo organization (RRR):
Excellent work! Your repo is well organized and only contains the files that are required, you made sure that your work was viewable from GitHub and that the plots render properly, and you provided good context to a visitor in your README file. This is what we expect to see from any repository on GitHub!
Task 1:
Very nice analysis!! I can see that you put a lot of effort into answering your questions, your code is clean and well-documented with explanations and I think that the summarizing and graphing tasks you chose for each question make a lot of sense. Your document is also very nicely structured and formatted and easy for the reader to follow.
I am particularly impressed with your plots, they are awesome! You really looked into how to make plots that made sense for your data. My only comment is to make sure to modify the names of axes and legends in all plots to make them readable (by changing them in your ggplot object so that they are not the variable names that include underscores, for example changing species_name to ""Name of Species). You did do this for the majority of plots though, just missed a couple :)
I agree with the point that you make in task 1.3 about reformatting your research question to make more sense.
Task 2:
You demonstrate a good understanding of tidy data both through your explanations in task 2.1 and through the work in task 2.2, and you document your code and reasoning to tidy/untidy the dataframe thoroughly - excellent work!
I agree with your reasoning of which questions you should pursue further and look forward to seeing how you approach those in the last milestone.
