Is it mere coincidence that my teammates are doing projects that I care so much about? In fact, for my PhD, I'm seriously considering studying the gut microbiota and its role in cancer. I'm sure you will enjoy your work, as it is a very interesting area of research.
Unfortunately, I'm not a foodie.

It's great to know more about you. It's a very happy coincidence that all my teammates work in projects that are super interesting and have a common interests in the field of Biology.
It's also amazing to know that we have foodies here. I love food and love to discuss and try different cuisines.

My name is Maira Jimenez and this is my first year as a Ph.D. student in the Experimental Medicine program.
I'm a Biotechnology Engineer and I did my Masters degree in Biochemical Sciences regarding enzymology. I'm doing my research work in Dr. Bruce Vallance Lab and my project is focused on some bacteria from our microbiota and its relationship with children's obesity.
Besides working, I love dancing, hiking, and have amazing dinners (I love food).
I'm really happy to be part of this team and work with you all!
