@critmcdonald, if we want a longer explainer than this just reopen this issue and I'll add.

Here's what's on statesman.com:

You can have football score alerts sent for your team to your phone as we publish them on game day. It's as easy as signing in and entering your team.

  1. Go to statesman.com and register or sign-in at the top-right of the page.
  2. Click on the "Mobile" link that's just below the navigation on any statesman.com page. You'll be asked to verify your statesman.com username/password again.
  3. Enter your cell phone number, and then choose which teams you want score alerts from. Click Submit. (You can see an example below.)

That's all there is to it! When your favorite team next plays a game, you'll be alerted with the final score as a SMS message to your phone.*

*Please note, scores are sent as we receive them on game nights, which is typically from 10 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
