Configure application logging. #20

Issue or current state

Application logging not currently implemented. Errors are getting captured in systemd's journal as they're emitted on stderr. Intentional logging of discoverable warnings or issues before errors arise would be useful. E.g.:

Resolved when

Application logger is configured. Useful warn and info level messages are being logged.
