This looks like a nice idea, and the code looks good- thanks, and happy to merge!

Next time you're in the office I'd love to hear more about possible use cases- if you're writing code that consumes these events, note that some changes to events are coming in #123. I'd be happy to walk you through the changes sometime and hear what you think.
