duplicate entries #40

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. sync (downloads events from Google to phone)
2. sync again (now wants to upload back to google)
3. now I have duplicates and it's difficult to clean up

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
no duplicates / cleaner sync

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
2.0.5

Please provide any additional information below.
When it downloads new events from google, it want's to upload them back to
google calendar...so I get lots of duplicates and then it's impossible to
clean it up. If I delete one, it removes it from the phone (which doesn't
have duplicates)...but there is still one in Google.

Is there a way to prevent/ignore duplicates to stop this problem?

Thanks Yusuf!

The events are not being duplicated even though it appears that way. GCalSync
is
building an event association database and needs to make sure it has the event
ID
synchronized whether the event was created on your phone or in Google Calendar.

Go ahead and test it and allow the event to be synchoronized again. You will
see the
events will not be duplicated and on next sync the synchronized events are not
shown
again.

In future versions, we will make it more clear.

I'm having the same problem. I deleted all the events from google calendar and
then
ran a full sync. Gcalsync uploaded all the events correctly as it should do.
However,
if I run either a full sync or sync again (should I be running a full sync or
just a
sync - what is the difference?) it creates duplicates on gcal. I have tried
allowing
it to create duplicates and then re-run gcalsync to see what happens. It tires
to
create triplicates. So something is not working correctly...
I am running 2.0.5 on a N95

Similar to problem #41.

This needs to be looked at. Several people are now saying they have a similar
problem.
