RRR8 UX test chat and new command design

As part of our rolling research into the core app experience we zoom in on an element of the Core app, roughly every month.

Characteristics of rolling research:

• Moderated remote or in-person.
• Limited scope. Generally limited to 3 tasks, such that we can find detailed areas of improvement for a particular flow in the app.
• Objective is to build a culture of experimentation as much as it is to identify areas of improvement
• If no one was there to see it, it didn't happen.

Research question

• How does the design chat experience compare to people's most used messenger experience?
• To what extent are people more successful in using the new command design than the current implementation, as observed in prior testing?
• What are potential areas of improvement?

Approach

• In-person moderated testing
• Individual use
• Within subject comparison with most-used app

Participant profile

Potential new users

• 3 are familiar with the concept of decentralized applications
• 3 are not familiar with decentralized applications but currently use a privacy oriented messaging app
• equal split between iOS and Android users
• All have not participated in Status UX research over the last 3 months
• All live in or within travel distance of Berlin
