Hello, thank you so much for the new awesome great Mpv-Hero media player! 💯 🥇

i downloaded and installed Mpv-Hero but unfortunately i get error message probably because my os is windows 7 32 bits, unfortunately my main laptop which has windows 10 broke down and so i went back to using my old one eee pc which dates from 2012, windows 7 machines are solid and durable and probably there are millions of computers left which use windows 7 which is fast fluid light, there are web navigations updated and compatible with windows 7 32 bits like supermium, thorium legacy, catsxp, zen-browser, yandex, r3dfox, luminafox, firefox esr.....

and there is as media player SMPlayer based on mpv and compatible with windows 7 32 bits but there is a bug in SMPlayer playback with a famous Russian streaming site that's why we hope please if possible a 32 version bits for windows 7 which will have a huge ecological impact because the html5 playback in web browser is heavy freeze lag, but in media players, the playback is fluid in youtube for example, in addition we can use preview feature of Cat-catch extension and Open -in-vlc extension to send streaming videos to a media player like Mpv - Hero, thank you very much!

Thanks for the feedback. The mpv-hero menu defaults come from the mpv-menu-plugin defaults, these defaults use the mpv-menu-plugin binary, which is not available for x86.

Very instructive and interesting ! Thanks a lot for investigating :)

so how explain the mystery that SMPlayer based on mpv has a 32-bit version that works on my windows 7 32-bit?

i went to the Smplayer releases page to post the 32-bit link:

https://github.com/smplayer-dev/smplayer/releases

and i notice something interesting: the 32-bit version of Smplayer for windows 7 is called:

smplayer-24.5.0-win32-qt5.6-unsigned.exe

https://github.com/smplayer-dev/smplayer/releases/download/v24.5.0/smplayer-24.5.0-win32-qt5.6-unsigned.exe

so Smplayer invented a qt 5 version of mpv for windows 7 ?

in any case thank you Mr Stax76 for your help and kindness and you decide to close this issue or not, for the moment fortunately potplayer works with open in vlc and cat catch extensions and potplayer is compatible with windows 7 and I reinforce potplayer with 3DYD Youtube Source plugin which brings the support of yt-dlp to potplayer :

https://ys.3dyd.com/

and also Qmplay2 and Kmplayer and vlc are also compatible with windows 7 so alhamdoulilAllah there are still media players compatible with windows 7 !

i just understood, so mpv-menu-plugin is only compatible with windows 10 or windows 11 so no support for windows 7, in this case maybe skip mpv-menu-plugin and just use uosc :

https://github.com/tomasklaen/uosc

because uosc config seems compatible with windows 7 32 bits, i think the most important for windows 7 users is not the context menu provided by mpv-menu-plugin 64bits but to be able to playback videos supported by yt-dlp and choose the video quality because cpu and connection can be low, there is yt-dlp 32 bits, and there is mpv qt 32 bits :

win32-qt5.6-unsigned.exe

https://github.com/smplayer-dev/smplayer/releases/download/v24.5.0/smplayer-24.5.0-win32-qt5.6-unsigned.exe

https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp?tab=readme-ov-file#recommended

so we hope please Mr @stax76 a dream : 32-bit Mpv-Hero just with uosc and mpv win32-qt5.6 without mpv-menu-plugin and especially compatible with this famous Russian streaming site:

https://my.mail.ru/mail/chriss1339/video/_myvideo/9009.html

because my favorite streaming site posts several videos on my . mail . ru , and Smplayer for windows 7 can't play videos from my . mail . ru in my windows 7 eee pc even though my . mail . ru is supported by yt-dlp :(

Thanks a lot!
