Visualizing OurStates legislation #1

Need to visualize legislation that has been passed within each state across the many categories identified here (this is the dataset used for OurStates.org), preferably in a grid format that allows the user to easily see what legislation their state has passed and whether it's good/bad without having to click through: TrackingLegislation excel.xlsx

Started building out some R code for this viz. Pretty basic right now but it's a start (http://i.imgur.com/JeQB0yg.png). Should I push to this repo or is there already code underway?
