Volume of custom sound does not follow system's Alarm volume #61

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Set Kitchen Timer to use Custom Sound.
2. Set alarm in Kitchen Timer for a specific time.
3. Alarm goes off.

What is the expected output? 
Loud alarm.

What do you see instead?
Alarm volume according to settings in Android.

Please include the following info:
Phone model? Desire.
Android Version? 2.3.7
ROM? Cyanogenmod 7.1.
