It appears this this resulted from a small SP (0.68) vote.
bad_alloc
usually points to a full shared memory file.
That was it. Sorry, I thought https://github.com/steemit/steem/issues/2478 had been solved. The defaults when you launch steemd have the shared memory size set to 24G and autogrowth disabled. I'll continue the conversation in 2478.
I upgraded from 19.5 to 19.11 and ran steemd with
--replay-blockchain
. Part way through the replay, it crashed with13 N5boost12interprocess9bad_allocE: boost::interprocess::bad_alloc
