USER STORY: SO02 As website administrator I would like to re-use an open-source/non proprietary EV charging dataset as the primary data source, to avoid the overhead of core data capture/maintenance #27

Acceptance Criteria: Chosen primary data source is open-source Chosen primary data source is non-proprietary but includes data from suppliers Chosen primary data source is maintained by a provider and database updates are performed at an acceptable frequency If secondary (e.g. data specific to the PowerIUpPoint) dataset is used: The primary dataset must still be display-able even if no secondary data record exists (ie we might hold additional data e.g. status on some charging points, but will not restrict display of charging points where we don't hold the data)

Assumptions: we will use OpenChargeMap datasets, possibly with some additional supplemental data specific to PowerUpPoint

Tasks: (whoever gets this one is getting off lightly!):

Chosen dataset is from OpenChargeMap. (https://openchargemap.org/site) This is OpenSource and relies on supplier data, and user feedback to maintain the dataset. On searching the various proprietary websites, this seems to be the most comprehensive dataset available, it combines data from the different suppliers. The documentation for OpenChargeMap explains how their data is maintained and shows statistics on the datapoints being maintained (screenprint below).

OpenChargeMap provide two ways of re-using their data:
