p. 86: "is associated with the semantic content of the selected (projection of the) verb trace (|5|)." I'm confused what this is about. The selected trace is the 2nd to last trace in the sentence, right? That trace doesn't seem to project, it seems to be directly combined with (selected by) the trace of "errang". If the assumption is that it first projects, that hasn't been introduced or motivated.

Yes, the lexical rule licenses a verb that selects for something. This something is a projection of the verb trace (the stuff in the Vorfeld). The argument that is described in the lexical rule is extracted, hence the extraction trace, from which we have to take the semantics of the fronted projection of the verb trace.
