CryptSync is a small utility that synchronizes two folders while encrypting the contents in one folder. That means one of the two folders has all files unencrypted (the files you work with) and the other folder has all the files encrypted.
I'm using this issue tracker to propose this idea, because this is also a feature request if you deem this idea interesting:
I'm one of the devs behind @cryptomator and we have been planning to create a vendor-neutral open source encryption standard, which should allow users to use our tools interchangeably. We have already discussed various ideas with @rfjakob (maintainer of gocryptfs) and proposed this to @ncw (rclone) here https://github.com/rclone/rclone/issues/1647#issuecomment-1005617703.
Discussing and documenting such a file format shall take place here on GitHub (in a new orga/repo).
I would love to have you on board as well. What do you think?
