I've unpacked the math of the contrast coding/what the beta terms mean, since what made this click for me is going through it step by minute step. I know you also get to it later in the tutorial, but I think it's worthwhile to see it in multiple places—leads to more robust learning.
Also, taste/smell were switched a couple places (commented), so I've made that consistent throughout.
Also also, I've used aligned environments where multiple equations are being shown (I find it so much more readable), but if for some reason those are incompatible with the web version of this page, then bulleted lists or individual math environments are fine.
