Can't open com port

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. trying to open com port i get:   Request for the permission of 
type 'System.Security.Permissions.SecurityPermission, mscorlib, 
Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
it should open com port and connect

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
2 on xp
