[Bug] Windows 8 Problem #75

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Whoops, that's what happens when you leave a window open and leave your laptop
alone. >.>
So, so, sorry for the spam issue.

I can assure you it's an excellent piece of software, sorry.

What it meant to say was:

Windows 8 has a ribbon in explorer so pressing ALT brings up the shortcut keys
for the ribbon and when dragging they stay in their original position.

I can't show a print screen because ALT just screenshots the dragged window.

Sorry again. >.<

Hmpf... (Trying to get in a better mood...) You should get better friends.

Okay. Yes. I know what you are referring to. I tried Windows 8 and I saw the
same behavior.

I can't think of any good or easy way to fix it right now. I think I will leave
the issue alone until Win8 is closer.

If anyone know how to accurately determine if a window is a ribbon window, then
please, let me know.

I am not encountering this issue in Win8 Consumer Preview. Can anyone check on
the RTM builds that have leaked out?

Hello.

I hope you have noticed the crowdfunding campaign on the front page. If it is
successful, you can be sure that I will take a look at all issue requests.
Also, for every $10 that you pledge, you will get a vote that you can cast on
any bug report or feature request. I promise that I will make a good attempt to
solve any issue that gets at least one vote. The more votes a bug
report/feature request gets, the more time I will spend on it.

Please support the development of AltDrag by donating. Thank you!

After a lot of googling, I haven't found any solution for this issue. The
easiest fix is to use another key than Alt.

To prevent it, I would have to block the alt keydown in the first place, which
is a bad idea. It's impossible to know that the user is about to invoke AltDrag.

So, until anyone finds a way to disable these ribbon shortcuts from popping up,
this issue will remain unsolved. The shortcuts are called 'KeyTip', from what I
could find out while googling.
