It seems that the satellite definition for S83E0 are incorrect. It should be based on 8/PSK instead of QPSK and SR 32720 as mentioned on lyngsat here.
The transponder S83.0E list should be of the following format,
10970,V,32720,23,8PSK
10970,H,32720,23,8PSK
11010,V,32720,23,8PSK
11010,H,32720,34,8PSK
11050,V,32720,23,8PSK
11050,H,32720,23,8PSK
11090,V,32720,23,8PSK
11090,H,32720,23,8PSK
11130,V,32720,23,8PSK
11130,H,32720,23,8PSK
11170,V,32720,23,8PSK
11170,H,32720,23,8PSK
11470,H,32720,23,8PSK
11470,V,32720,34,8PSK
11510,H,32720,23,8PSK
11510,V,32720,34,8PSK
11550,H,32720,23,8PSK
11550,V,32720,23,8PSK
11590,H,32720,34,8PSK
11590,V,32720,23,8PSK
11630,H,32720,34,8PSK
11630,V,32720,23,8PSK
11670,H,32720,34,8PSK
11670,V,32720,23,8PSK
Can you explain what the above translates to in your satellites.dat file?

I updated the satellites.dat file to below and was able to scan the channels. The file is probably incorrect, but atleast it got me going.

The file is probably incorrect
Why, if it works for you?
I am not sure what NID and TID mean. Also, the transponder list is incomplete as Lyngsat shows many more frequencies.
rajil, can you try this again with the latest version? I have just committed a full update of the satellites.dat file, based on kingofsat satellite data.
Hello,
I am using TBS 6981 to scan for channels,
Any idea what the scan is failing to find any channels.
