Great work! Thanks to you, we are now finally able to use our two Expanse ArtNet nodes, which would have otherwise laid dormant on the shelf. Is there a way to send you a few bucks as a small thank you?

Liebe Grüße und ein schönes Wochenende Moritz

Hi Moritz!

Wow, thats so nice to hear! So, I guess you build your own nodes using and ESP and RS-485 converter, or did you use completely different hardware apart from that? And what fixtures you're controlling with it and what's the purpose/use case? - sorry for my curiosity :D

Wenn du magst, gern, dann hab ich nen Grund mal mein Vorhaben umzusetzen, das Projekt um 'ne I2C to Ethernet Schnittstelle al Alternative zum WiFi zu erweitern: paypal.me/SSchmelter

Wünsch Dir eine gute Woche!

Hi Steffen,

So, I guess you build your own nodes using and ESP and RS-485 converter, or did you use completely different hardware apart from that?

To be specific, there is a one-man-company from New Zealand called expanseElectronics which, among other things, fabricates an ESP8266-based ArtNet to DMX node, although our boards never worked with their original firmware. The company is run by the same Matthew Tong as the author of the espDMX library you're referring to in the README of this project. I'm not particularly fond of how he likes to do things.

On a side note, I already built one or two custom solutions too, like my Jetson Nano which has an RS-485 expansion board and a Lemo socket built into the case, with a special cable and XLR on the other end. The use case is lighting for home parties in our case. Nothing professional going on here for now, just lots of experimentation. 😊

The fixture is a Varytec Gigabar 5 with individually addressable RGBW LEDs.

Hab eine Kleinigkeit gesendet, und wünsche dir auch eine gute Woche Moritz

P.S.: Don't be sorry for being curious! :)
