Error Configuring ELM327 #9

Hi, After sending the commands ATZ, ATE1, ATH1,ATAL, ATS0, ATSP2, ATMA Individually, the following do not return an OK. ATAL no response, ATMA no response.

Is there something I am doing wrong Perhaps?

What brand? Some "elm327" versions aren't true ELM chips

Hi, thanks for your response. It is a cheap Chinese version. I am happy to buy a better one, but would love some guidance on what brand to buy. Seems silly to keep buying different ones until I find one that works. Do you know if the OBDLinkMX will work? Thanks

The LX should work too and is what I have. The MX adds some extra CAN bus access. I have 3 cheap Chinese versions and only one worked well and one didn't work. But I also did a custom board with direct interface plus GPS merge (to sync data better and because not all devices had GPS).

I may have some spares, but I only built two for my own use. I have https://github.com/tz1/HarleyJ1850GPS with the code. I should have the eagle cad files somewhere, but haven't used it in a few years.
