Hi folk. Are you planning on working on these mods anymore at all? Do you mind if I pick it up? There are a lot of new features that need tinifying in the new update, such as starbases on the outliner...
@felipecanhedo It now says on a few of the Tiny mods that he wants someone to take it over and to contact him via Discord to arrange it. Is that your intention?
I don't mind, provided credit is given properly and the licenses are retained.
I can give people commit access to the stellaris-mods github organization, or you can fork if you want.
Making a new release on steam and github is very easy for me, and easier for existing users if they don't have to subscribe to new projects.
But, of course, I understand if you want to publish things on the workshop in your own name.
I only code mods when I want to code mods. That has always been true, and it's still true. Some months, I simply don't want to. Unfortunately, that period hit during a major patch (this time). Probably because of Paradox taking my work without saying a word.
There's no monetary reward for doing any work on Stellaris mods.
The only incentive left now is gratitude from random people on the internet that I'll never meet.
Previously, the main incentive was to learn the worst programming language in history - the Stellaris scripting language. I feel I've done that.
There will come a day when I want to fix my mods. But today is not that day, and I can't say when it will be.
Until then, my repositories are open for anyone who wants access.
@folknor It is unfortunate that you have lost your will to mod. I used almost all of your Stellaris mods and several of your Factorio mods. You create great content.
It is certainly inexcusable for Paradox to steal your content, especially without any acknowledgement. However, I hope you will not let their immoral actions prevent you from finding enjoyment through modding their game. We will lose any of your content that other modders do not maintain. Although others could maintain some of your existing mods, we will be deprived of any new content you would create. Given the quality of your previous content, your absence will have a considerable negative impact upon the modding community going forward.
Nonetheless, I understand and respect your reasoning. I look forward to your return when you are ready.
Thank you. Keep in mind that I have lost my will to mod several times over the years, and then it randomly returns after a random period.
I can't say when that will be, but until that day, there's absolutely no incentive for me to do anything.
However, access to my repositories will be granted to anyone that asks, and I will be glad to run my release script and push updates to Steam.
Can you update all the Tiny mods for 2.0 on the Steam workshop? Although it works, it is lacking the new icons that indicate buildings are ready to upgrade, pops cant grow due to tile blockers and so on.
