The ontology has cell culture medium additive as a subclass of processed material. The logical definition is: 'processed material' and ('has role' some 'cell culture additive role')
Going by this, one potential definitions is simply "a processed material that bears some cell culture additive role". This places the meat of the definition on cell culture additive role (see #13).
fetal bovine serum culture additive df= fetal bovine serum that bears some cell culture additive role.
fetal bovine serum df= The serum blood fraction obtained from cow fetuses and used as a component of growth medium. (NCIT def)
Do we want to add classes for blood, serum etc?
cell culture medium additive def: a reagent that is added to a cell culture medium in order to support cell growth, stabilize cell growth, or maintain cell productivity
