I have since received an email response from Zoho on this (and wonder why Zoho doesn't contribute directly here) which, as you might expect, is not particularly helpful:
"We were not able to replicate this issue. Even when the application/system language is set otherwise (German), only the application user interface translates to (German), the exported CSV file still contains only english column headers. Can you elaborate more on where/how you had faced this issue? If possible, a screen recording relevant to this issue will be very helpful."
In addition to the fact that a screen recording is suggested here again, the problem was not recognized correctly as usual because the software was not tested properly.
Explanation:
There are two ways to access the contacts in a Zoho Workplace or Zoho Mail product:
The following analysis is therefore correct:
And this even opens up a new bug: The column headings in the export are different in two different places.
The bug still remains, and the scope of the bug is even wider.
Wow! Well done, Zoho!
Device Information
Describe the bug If a language other than English has been set in Zoho Mail and you want to export your contacts as a CSV file, you are in for a little surprise.
There are errors in the column headings which mean that the CSV file can no longer be processed correctly without manual corrections.
In my case, for example, I have set the German language.
For example, the column heading "Home phone" becomes the heading "Telefon, privat", which is correct in terms of content, but if you do not additionally place this character string in quotation marks in a CSV file or provide it with any other column separator, then the additional comma is naturally used as a column separator.
Zoho has thus once again successfully reduced the concept of a CSV file to absurdity. Congratulations!
If the default language (English) is set, then this error does not occur.
