@aksarkar I see you closed this PR, however I'm interested in the changes you suggested for lfc.R. Do you think they improve the multithreading in de_analysis? If you think so, I'm happy to test out this change.

@pcarbo I rebased the branch onto stephenslab:master, which deleted the source of this PR. I will open a new one.
