Modify TTL of cached file for close-in-time caches. #192

Although I've been using these changes for weeks now, I'd like
someone to look over it.
I deliberately chose to use an optional parameter instead of
modifying the @expireCache instance - this approach becomes
important for issue 191.
(And of course I'm curious whether this way to commit and request
a code review in one go works or not.)
