Would you mind to share some details that allow to reproduce your problem?
The information you gave is a bit on the scarce side... (Any special characters
in the owner name?)
Please see the ReportingBugs wiki page.

Ah, so you're using Windows - and Ruby 1.8.
(That information would have been available without making, uploading, and
watching a video...)
What's your codepage, have you tried another one?
Is there any chance to try 1.9 (by installing ruby, and fetching/unpacking the
tar.gz)?
On Linux, I cannot reproduce the issue :( but I'll add some debugging code for
the upcoming release so we can track this down a bit.

Have you been able to reproduce the issue with 3.16.5, released in early March?
Without additional information, reproduction of this issue is close to
impossible.
(Please try to follow the hints in ReportingBugs. Command line rulez.)

Now I tried version 3.16.5,
program has not crash, but does not filter out the caches by selected owner.
I also tried version 3.17.7,and there the problem persists, a program crashes.

I'm worried now as 3.16.5 *should* behave like 3.17.7 in this respect.
If an owner isn't detected properly, that's a nuisance. If GeoToad crashes,
that's a bug...
May I have some more information? (Command line used, error message / last
debugging output, see "ReportingBugs" wiki page)

As the video isn't available any longer - and the issue can't be reproduced
this way:
Closing as "WontFix" :/
